Connect MetaTrader 4
Read-only. The journal never trades.
MetaTrader 4
bridge credential
Could not connect
This venue is not ready to connect yet, so the form is disabled rather than taking a key it cannot use. Nothing has been stored. Your investor (read-only) password has been cleared and must be entered again — we do not send a secret back to your browser.
⚠ This stores a secret
It is encrypted before it reaches the database and never
appears in a response or a log. It is still worth knowing: an investor password cannot be revoked on its own the way an exchange API key can, and often changes with your master password.
The credential is checked against the venue before it is
stored. If it turns out to allow trading or withdrawal, the connection is
refused and nothing is saved.

Your broker issues the investor password

Worth knowing about MetaTrader 4
- MT4 reports less per-deal detail than MT5, so some figures will be coarser.
- Connects through MetaApi, a third party, at a per-account monthly cost.
- The investor password cannot be revoked on its own — change it if you stop using this journal.
Exchanges move these settings without warning. If
what you see does not match, MetaApi ↗ is the
authority — and nothing here ever asks you to enable trading or
withdrawal.
